An Asiana Airlines flight from Seoul crashed at landing at San Francisco’s airport Saturday, which killed two passengers, and injuring more than 160 others. The two passengers who died were 16 years old female students from China. According to Chinese reports, Wang Linjia and Ye Mengyuan were part of a student group from Jiangshan Middle School in China’s eastern Zhejiang province.
Asiana Airlines released a statement that:
The pilot in charge of landing the Boeing 777 on Saturday, Lee Kang-kook, was training for the long-range plane and it was his first flight to that airport with the jet, he had previously flown to San Francisco on different planes and was being assisted by another pilot more experienced with the Boeing 777.
Vedpa Singh, a passenger on board who suffered from a fractured collarbone said:
“It was all over in 10 seconds, We heard a big bang, and it was over.”
The cause of the crash has still not been determined, but the FBI definitely said that this could not be a case of terrorism. This was a horrible horrible plane crash. I am sending my condolences to all the families of the victims.
